Speed Linking
Welcome to the July 16 edition of Speed Linking. Some great articles around the web this week, so let’s get started right away. Mostly career and finance oriented today, but I’m sure you’ll like them anyway.
- How much do you keep in your checking account? - A good question to be sure. I generally keep $200 extra in my checking account, above whatever bills and things I have to pay. I use Money 2006 to forecast what I’ll need so I never have to worry.
- Tricky Interview Question: What are your salary expectations? - I think that more than any other question, this really trips up those of us without much experience. Whether you’re interviewing for a job as a cart boy at Target or a engineering position at a large corporation, you’ll be asked this question. I always have a hard time knowing what to answer. Free Money Finance gives some great tips on dealing with the question.
- One Tough Fly - For the week, this article takes the cake as the funniest one I saw. My friend Matt had quite the encounter with a beast of epic proportions. Read the story now.
That’s it for Speed Linking today. Coming up soon is a review of various social networking websites and how you can use them to advance or destroy your career. Have a great week!
