Chicago Style Hot Dogs - Best in the World

Today we have another entry in the Abandon Nest vidcast series. In this video, I go over the parts of a great Chicago-style hot dog and construct one in front of your eyes. This food holds a very special place in my heart because it’s central to my being as a Chicagolander. Without the Chicago-style hot dog, my stomach would have gone empty on many an occasion. For those of you who can’t or don’t want to watch, the ingredients for one of these beasts include:

  • Big bun
  • All beef hot dog (Vienna Beef if you can find it)
  • Diced onions
  • Pickle relish
  • Sliced tomato
  • Dill pickle spears
  • Sweet peppers
  • Celery salt

Now watch the video to see how we put all these pieces together.

Super Taco Assembly

In my last vidcast I demonstrated the preperation technique for excellent Italian Chicken. In today’s post and accompanying video, I’ll be showing you how to create what I like to call a super taco.

Tacos are incredibly easy to prepare. However, I fully believe that the key to a great taco is in the combination of ingredients to bring out the flavor of everything. A super taco is basically a taco with double of everything. It’s huge and tastes great, but they can get a little hard to handle. Now, watch as I construct my super taco before your eyes.

As an added note, it can be beneficial to use two tortilla shells as a base if you find your tacos falling apart on you. What do you put on your taco and how do you assemble it?
