To be honest with you, I never considered anything but a four year college after graduating from high school. I knew I wanted a degree, and figured I’d get a bachelor’s and see where it could take me. Off I went to college and I’m halfway done. Now, looking at some of the jobs that CareerBuilder has listed for those with associate degrees, I think I’d take a second look. Here’s the 10 best paying jobs for associate degrees, with corresponding salaries:
- Computer Specialist - $59,480
- Nuclear Technician - $59,200
- Dental Hygienist - $58,350

Does anyone really know how important college is? I’m still in school, so I’m not sure yet. It seems like its an enriching experience, but I’m only a little more than halfway through. Do you know how important higher education has been in your life? Why did you go to college in the first place? Recently some statistics have been released that make me think that 4 years of debt and higher education is worth a lot more then the investment.
I’d like to direct your attention to Free Money Finance’s entry on the topic, entitled Sell College to Your Kids. I understand that most of you are not planning for children yet, but the figures should be revealing to people of all ages. Just look at the difference between high school graduate and bachelor’s degree. Isn’t that amazing?
I think the lesson to learn from these figures is that college is definitely worth your while. It’s definitely worth the money. On average, college graduates earn a million more in the course of their life then less educated individuals. So if you’re still stuck in school, stick it out and think of the rewards. If you’re done, how has college impacted your life?
