About AbandonNest and Nick Ohrn
AbandonNest is a site devoted to tips for those just starting out on their own. It started as a result of my internship with General Electric during the spring and summer of 2006. I had my own apartment, cooked for myself, and had to start paying bills and managing my money. At time it was overwhelming, but I realized that there must have been other who were going through the same thing.
As a result, I started writing about the things that I experienced and the items that I would recommend. AbandonNest grew to have a bit of a following, but once I moved back to school after my internship, I found that there wasn’t a whole lot for me to right about because I was in a closed environment again.
So, while I currently do not actively write for AbandonNest, I hope to resume article posting again someday. For now, I’m working on a few side projects that I will definitely link to from here when they’re complete.
If you’re wondering who I am, well… my name is Nick Ohrn, and I’m a 21 year old college student at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I’m majoring in computer science and love programming, cooking, weightlifting, running, and playing racquetball.
